Look, Ma, No Blog!

By Frances Flynn Thorsen • November 4th, 2009

no-blogWatching REALTORS engage on Facebook and Twitter in short, circa 140-character bursts of information leaves me hungry for more … some of them share links to articles and videos. The best engagement, bar none, is the Facebook post and the Tweet with a URL that connects me with an original blog post that stirs me to think … that makes my heart ache, my soul sing.

A blog is the core of a social media presence, a veritable center of gravity. A blog gives you a chance to build your value proposition … create a voice … reach your target market and create conversations leading to meaningful relationships.

Coming to the social media table without a blog is like dressing in the morning and neglecting to put on a pair of underwear. My Aunt Marion did not wear underwear. It created a serious issue among Polish wives on windy days in Jersey City.

Don’t be caught on a windy day in social media without a blog. The engagement you attract will be shallow. You deserve better than that! Don’t engage without a blog.
